We are seeking a professional loan officer to assist our valued customers.
A Loan Officer I at Liberia Towards Development (LTD) is responsible for assisting applicants in their pursuit of investments, loans, and finances. This role involves determining the qualifications of applicants and working closely with them throughout the application process. The Loan Officer must possess extensive knowledge of banking system rules and regulations, and be willing to use this knowledge to guide applicants effectively.
Responsibility includes but not limited to:
  • Supporting Entrepreneurial Endeavors
Play a key role in this by assessing the financial needs of entrepreneurs, farmers, business owners, landowners, property owners, educators, innovators, and more.
  • Providing Financial Assistance: 
Responsible for providing loans and other financial assistance to support local Liberians’ entrepreneurial endeavors and economic activities.
  • Promoting Economic Development: 
Work towards fostering economic development in Liberia. This could involve working closely with individuals and communities to support their economic activities.
  • Offering Long-Term Loans and Solutions: 
As part of LTD’s services, the Loan Officer would offer long-term loans and solutions tailored to the needs of the clients. This could include developing the right solution for sustainable financing, including equipment, etc.
  • Expertise in Business Loans: 
Have in-depth expertise in the creation of a successful business and should be reliable with vast expertise in business loans.
EducationAn associate’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field is often required.
Experience: 1 year experience in banking, sales, or finance can be beneficial. Experience with loan underwriting and processing is often required.
Skills:
  • Financial Analysis: Ability to assess the financial condition of a client and understand their financial needs.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex financial information in an understandable way.
  • Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of local economic conditions and familiarity with the local business community can be advantageous.

This role involves determining the qualifications of applicants and working closely with them throughout the application process. The Loan Officer must possess extensive knowledge of banking system rules and regulations, and be willing to use this knowledge to guide applicants effectively.
Responsibility includes but not limited to:
  • Advanced Loan Processing: 
Handle more complex loan applications and scenarios, requiring a deeper understanding of financial products and regulations.
  • Mentorship: 
Expected to mentor or train junior loan officers and share their expertise.
  • Risk Assessment: 
Involved in higher-level risk assessment and decision-making regarding loan approvals.
EducationA bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field is required.
